Pilot dies in Kentucky crash of Lancair kit built plane

Donald E. Klein, Jr., the owner and pilot of an experimental kit built 2006 Lancair 235 single engine aircraft, tail number N235MW, was killed when his plane crashed into a field in Breckinridge County, Kentucky on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 1:45 p.m. EDT, shortly after taking off from Rough River Airport, as reported on that date by the Aviation Safety NetworkWDRB-TVWHAS-TV, and other media sources.

Jordan Klunk, a fried who was following about 2 to 3 minutes behind in another aircraft, told a reporter for WHAS-TV that his Mr. Klein had radioed him shortly before the accident that he was experiencing electrical problems and was attempting to land.
