  • PreCheck expands to Cincinnati airport next month
Next month, Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport will become the first airport in Kentucky or Ohio with the Transportation Security Administration’s PreCheck program. Travelers enrolled in the program move more quickly through checkpoints without having to remove their jackets or shoes. "CVG welcomes the TSA PreCheck program as another benefit for our passengers. This program expedites the screening process for many travelers without compromising safety," said Candace McGraw, chief executive officer at CVG. • Airlines turn to explosives detection technology to screen food
Several airlines — including British Airways, Delta Air Lines, Lufthansa and Air France — are using explosive trace detectors developed by Implant Sciences Corp. to screen food and beverage carts. Company officials note that the technology has a very low false-alarm rate. "We’re working on technologies to drive false alarms even lower, increase the accuracy of the analysis and increase the number of substances that can be identified, making it easier for security professionals to get their work done," said Brad Chase, the company’s marketing director.
